New applications for U.S. unemployment insurance benefits for the week ending June 17 were unchanged from the previous week’s revised number at 264,000. The four-week moving average as of June 17 increased 8,500 from the previous week’s revised number to 255,750. The average is the highest since November 13, 2021.
