The death of Argentine YouTuber Gaspi in a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro prompted an outpouring of grief across the Spanish-speaking content creator community, with streamers, YouTubers and influencers sharing tributes on social media and during live broadcasts.
Gaspi, whose real name was Gaspar Prim Díaz, died Sunday when two helicopters collided in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes neighborhood of Rio. The crash killed six people, including Argentine filmmaker and music video producer Lucas Vignale, American singer Oliver Tree, Brazilian music producer Lucas Frota, and the two pilots involved in the accident. Emergency crews said both aircraft crashed after the midair collision, sparking a fire and leaving no survivors.
Among the most widely shared reactions was that of Spanish creator Rubius, who learned of the news during a live stream. Visibly affected, he ended his broadcast, telling viewers: "I don't really feel like watching anything anymore. It's a person I talked to a lot and who was always very kind to me. He let me use many of his songs in my videos." He added: "He's not someone random to me."

Spanish sreamer Ibai Llanos also expressed his condolences, writing: "What an absolute tragedy. What absolute sadness. I don't even know what to say. Rest in peace, Gaspi. A big hug to all his family and friends."

Mexican Youtube and Twitch creator Quackity posted a message reflecting on the loss. "I can't find the words to describe the pain I felt upon reading the news of Gaspi's passing," he wrote. "Life is so unfair; I still can't bring myself to believe it. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones, and to the families of the victims of this horrific accident."

Many other prominent creators shared tributes. Coscu remembered a recent conversation in which Gaspi spoke enthusiastically about improving his lifestyle and health. Across the reactions, a common theme emerged: creators described Gaspi not only as a successful online personality but as someone remembered for his humor, generosity and personal relationships within the streaming community.
As investigations into the Rio de Janeiro crash continue, many of the tributes also extended condolences to the families of the other five victims who died alongside him in one of the deadliest aviation accidents to affect the online entertainment world in recent years.
