In a viral TikTok video with over 188, 700 views, user Tiffany Tiannaa (@TiffanyTianna) shared what happened and why she just may return the wedding ring she purchased from the store.

“Let me tell you exactly why you should not shop at the Jared jewelry store in Sugarland, Texas,” the woman began in the clip.

She explained that she went to the store and purchased a wedding ring and an enhancer. The saleswoman who purchased the ring from was very professional and offered fantastic customer service.

So she was shocked when she returned to the store to pick up the ring and had a completely different experience with a manager at the same location.

“Immediately, he’s standoffish, he’s cold, he’s not welcoming,” she said.

Then the manager got into a back-and-forth with the woman, because she was picking up the ring using an email receipt.

By the time he retrieved the ring, the woman already felt like her experience had been tarnished.

However, that didn’t stop the man from making the situation worse.

“He proceeds to look at the ring and say, ‘Do you need a box?’,” she said.

The bride-to-be was shocked.

“I was like, uh, absolutely,” she said.

Then he boxed and bagged up the ring without even allowing her to see it or try it on.

In the end, she called the experience “horrible.”

Ultimately, she said she planned to return the ring because she didn’t want to keep it after having that negative encounter.

Can you return a wedding ring?

In a follow-up video, the woman said her fiancé called the store and spoke directly to the manager, Orlando.

The manager said he would apologize to Tiffany whenever she was in the store next. Still, the woman went ahead and called the store’s corporate office.

Corporate then contacted the district manager, Tim. The pair had a conversation wherein he defended his employee.

She said she felt like he just “invalidated” her experience.

He also asked how he could make the situation right.

The woman decided to return the ring, and he agreed to allow her to do so.

“There is no way I’m gonna allow that Jared to have my money,” she concluded.

According to Jared’s Return & Exchange policy, a ring can be returned for up to 30 days after purchase.

Customers who purchase rings that were sized-to-order can also get a refund on the sizing fee.

@tiffanytiannaa @Jared Jewelers do not go to the Jared on Kensington Dr in Sugarland! All brides please be aware of a Manager named, Orlando. I just left Jared minutes ago to pick up my engagement ring and band that my fiancé spent thousands on. I was told on the date of sale, that I could use my ID for pickup. Orlando spoke to me in a very loud tone. At first Orlando said, I needed receipt then doubled back and said my ID was ok. He was very dismissive and lacked basic customer service. He was not welcoming and very closed off. I’m so disgusted. He proceeded to ask me if I needed a box for my ring??? Who walks out of a jewelry store with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry with no box? He is a disappointment to this business and my experience. I will be returning this item. #wedding #houston #sugarland #experience #jared ♬ original sound – tiffanytiannaa

How did viewers feel about Jared’s customer service issue?

In the video’s comments section, many supported the woman and validated her concerns about how she was treated.

“I’m so sorry for your experience; however, I am so glad that you took it back. We don’t have to spend our hard earned money with people/companies that are prejudice and treat us like we don’t deserve to be in those places. Kudos to you Sis and congratulations on your upcoming nuptials,” user Ms. Nikita wrote.

“PLEASE RETURN IT SIS. you are beautiful by the way. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT,” user Inger said.

Others hinted at the race of the worker.

“Before I make my statement, was he?” user Taylor Symone commented.

“Sis yes!” Tiffany responded.

The Mary Sue reached out to Tiffany and Jared via email for comment.
