Trai Fuller is too good not to be playing regular NRL but the dynamic fullback has still spurned a multi-million dollar offer from England's Wakefield to sign a one-year extension with the Dolphins.
For 2028 and beyond, Fuller will no doubt be a sought-after signature for expansion clubs such as the Perth Bears and PNG Chiefs but prizing him away from his Brisbane-based young family and his beloved Dolphins is no easy task.
The 29-year-old recently knocked back a $1.7 million three-year deal with Wakefield amid contract negotiations with the Dolphins, which were resolved on Tuesday with his extension.
A strong and open relationship with coach Kristian Woolf informed his decision.
"It is good that I know what I am doing for the next year so that I can focus on my footy," he said.
