Puppet Slam In Bangkok 2026 will take children, families and theatre-lovers to experience a vibrant celebration of contemporary puppetry and visual performance, at Siam Mover Theatre on the 2nd floor of Siamkitt Building, Rama I Road, this Saturday and Sunday.
Held under the theme "Diffusion", this third edition will explore the boundless world of contemporary puppetry through a wider range of performances and engagement activities.
Visitors will discover many forms of puppetry including hand puppetry, shadow play, marionette, object theatre and mask performance -- presented by more than 20 local and international groups.
The festival features daytime family-friendly programmes -- from 2pm to 3pm and 4.30pm to 5.30pm, alongside Puppet Slam: Wild Night, an evening programme curated for audiences aged 13 and above from 7pm to 8.30pm showcasing bold, experimental and thought-provoking performances.
Beyond the main theatre programmes, audiences can enjoy the Special Open Stage featuring short performances in front of the theatre 20 minutes before each main programme, and the Puppet Slam Bazaar offering handmade products, art pieces, puppets, souvenirs and merchandise created by participating artists.
There will also be a discussion forum bringing together artists, educators and practitioners to explore the future of puppetry in Thailand. Topics include "The Development Of Puppetry Artists And Creative Labor In Thailand And Beyond" and "The Role Of Puppetry In Educational Institutions".
