The next-generation game "Pokémon Winds and Waves" is at the center of recent leak, which has made claims about its internal release date.
While the game is coming next year, there has been no further details shared by its developer and publisher apart from its reveal trailer, which already revealed its new starters.
'Pokémon Winds and Waves' Leak Shares Internal Release Date
Centro Leaks, a widely followed and generally reliable source in the Pokémon leak community, shared on X that "Pokémon Winds and Waves" is internally targeting a September 2027 release date. The specific day within the month was not disclosed.
Centro Leaks clarified that this is the date the development team is aiming for, not an officially confirmed public release date, and noted that the information is subject to change as development continues.
Nintendo and Game Freak have not commented on the report, and it is unlikely that they will based on how the company has kept multiple franchises under wraps. No official changes to the previously announced 2027 release window have been made.

'Pokemon Winds and Waves' Public Availability Hints
According to ComicBook Gaming, mainline "Pokémon" games have a strong track record of releasing on Fridays, though Nintendo and Game Freak have begun experimenting with Thursday release dates in recent years.
If the September 2027 internal target holds, possible release dates based on that pattern would fall across several Fridays and Thursdays throughout the month.
Delays for mainline Pokémon games are relatively rare, which gives the September target more credibility than it might have for other franchises.
ComicBook noted that while the games are "aiming" for September and nothing is set in stone, Game Freak's history of keeping to its planned windows makes a delay to 2028 less likely than it might otherwise be.
What to Expect From Gen 10 Pokémon Game?
"Pokémon Winds and Waves" marks the first mainline Pokémon game developed specifically for the Nintendo Switch 2. Game Freak confirmed the title is a Switch 2 exclusive, meaning players still on the original Switch will need to upgrade to access Generation 10.
The games will follow the series' paired release format, with both "Pokémon Winds" and "Pokémon Waves" launching simultaneously.
The setting takes the franchise to a new region inspired by the islands of Southeast Asia, built as an open-world archipelago spread across a vast ocean. Early footage showed dense jungles, volcanic caves, beach towns, and underwater areas, suggesting exploration will span both land and sea in ways previous mainline entries have not fully realized.
Three new starter Pokémon headlined the announcement, featuring Browt, a Grass-type "Bean Chick" Pokémon; Pombon, a Fire-type Pomeranian-like puppy; and Gecqua, a Water-type gecko-like Pokémon with large expressive eyes. Trainers only getting to choose one between the three.
The game's title also hints at its legendary Pokémon, which are widely expected to be tied to wind and ocean mythology within the franchise lore.
