A senior banker with royal links has been arrested in connection with the long-unsolved “Putney Pusher” case, nearly a decade after a woman was shoved into the path of an oncoming bus in London.

The 44-year-old man was detained at his £1. 4million home in west London on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm. He is understood to be a director at a private bank and a former British Army officer who served in several major conflicts.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "On Monday, 15 June, a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm. He was taken to police custody, where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident on 5 May 2017, where a woman was pushed into the path of a bus on Putney Bridge in Putney. Inquiries continue."
The case relates to a shocking incident on Putney Bridge on 5 May 2017, when a 33-year-old woman was walking during the morning rush hour at around 7. 40am. CCTV footage from the time showed a jogger approaching her from the opposite direction before shoving her into the road.
