Maybelline’s new lash sensational sky high tubes mascara feels made for this week’s mini heatwave, arriving just sticky commutes and sunny pub gardens put your eye make-up under real pressure. The beauty brand has long been the benchmark for affordable mascaras, and the lash sensational sky high iteration (£8.45, Amazon.co.uk) already has a loyal following, so this new tubing iteration certainly feels like an appropriate Maybelline power move.
Unlike traditional formulas that simply coat lashes in pigment, tubing mascara wraps each lash in lightweight, flexible tubes, helping them stay lifted and defined while standing up better against humidity, sweat and watery eyes. With UK temperatures reaching highs of 25C today, this is exactly the formula you’ll want on hand – lest you risk dealing with smudges by lunchtime.
Besides the sticking power, the biggest draw of sky tubes is undoubtedly the removal aspect. It’s designed to be water resistant with cold water yet remove effortlessly with warm water, so the tubes should slide away with a gentle press-and-pull motion. Ergo you can save your delicate eye area from the usual rubbing, scrubbing and make-up remover overload at the end of the day.
The only caveat? This new release is available exclusively on TikTok shop (£13.99, TikTok.com) until later this month. For the beauty obsessives, that means heading over to your app to shop now. However, if you’d rather wait and shop in-store – scroll on for everything we know so far.

While I haven’t tested the new release just yet, I have high hopes for its performance off the back of its predecessors. I’m also intrigued by the brand’s inclusion of shea butter and castor oil to aid with long-term lash health.
If you, like me, struggle with droopy lashes, tubing mascaras generally negate this issue because their flexibility prevents the pigments from straightening the hairs or undoing the lift from your lash curler. Of course, the proof will be in the pudding when I eventually get my hands on the new formula – watch this space for my full review.

In the meantime, I’ve found myself watching one TikToker’s sky tubes removal on repeat. If any mascara will actually slide off my lashes as easy as her demonstration implies, I know I’ll be on board.
