Knicks star criticizes ‘crazy’ NBA Finals ticket prices ahead of Monday’s game

  • New York Knicks star Josh Hart has called out sky-high ticket prices for tonight’s Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
  • "I kind of wish the ticket prices weren’t as crazy as they are,” he said Sunday. "I feel like a lot of people who have been waiting for this moment for a very long time unfortunately aren’t able to get into the building. The cheapest ticket $7,000, $8,000. That’s ridiculous.”
  • The Knicks are in the finals for the first time since 1999 and are leading the series 2-0, making their first home game this round a hot ticket. Ticket prices exceed the average cost of rent in the biggest U.S. city.
  • The cheapest upper-deck seats available late Sunday were going for over $6,000 on secondary markets like StubHub, SeatGeek and VividSeats. The experience of being courtside goes for more than $75,000.
  • Security is expected to be similar to airport checkpoints with President Donald Trump slated to attend Monday night’s game, just hours after six people were stabbed at Penn Station, the busy transit hub located underneath Madison Square Garden.
