Katie Price returns to Dubai to reunite with husband Lee Andrews days after his release from prison

Katie Price has revealed she has returned to Dubai to reunite with husband Lee Andrews following his release from prison, almost a month after he went missing and was later found to have spent weeks in a jail in Dubai.

After initial claims from Price in May that Andrews had been “kidnapped”, it later emerged that he was being held in Dubai’s Al Awir jail.

The former glamour model, 48, confirmed she was travelling to the UAE last week in an effort to secure his release, where she discovered he faced an alleged £140,000 charge to be freed.

The reason behind his detention remains unclear. There were claims he was being held on suspicion of “espionage”, but these were denied by Dubai authorities, who said it was a “private civil matter”.

It is understood the couple were last together in early May. Since his arrest, Price has been able to speak with Andrews.

On Monday, Price revealed she was heading overseas by sharing a selfie from her flight before later posting a photograph overlooking Dubai's skyline.

Posting to Snapchat, she asked her followers: “Can you guess where I am?”

The trip marks the first time she has returned to Dubai since Andrews was released from Al Awir prison, where he had spent around a month behind bars.

His release came last week, with sources claiming he returned to his rental property shortly afterwards and contacted Price immediately.

“Lee is out and back in his rental,” a source told The Sun. “He called Katie straight away and she was thrilled.”

The insider added that Price had not contributed towards the reported six-figure fine linked to his release.

Despite ongoing scrutiny surrounding Andrews and his legal troubles, Price is understood to be standing by her husband.

The source added that the relationship remains complicated, with the former glamour model said to have questions following Andrews' time in prison.

The insider added: “Of course she has heard the discourse surrounding him, and she’s not stupid. She knows the optics aren’t great if she stays with this man. But as any woman who has been love-bombed knows, it’s hard to leave when you’re being treated so well.

“For whatever reason, she still loves him and is hugely physically attracted to him. But make no bones about it: Lee is a conman and a fraud and there must be consequences to his despicable actions. She must leave this man.”

Speaking on The Katie Price Show podcast earlier this month, Price said Andrews had been shocked to discover he had become “the most hated man in prison” after his disappearance sparked widespread speculation online.

Price previously said that Andrews will need to do a public interview to explain the mystery of his disappearance.

“He is going to have to explain it all. He needs to do an interview,” she said. “The public deserve it - everyone thinks he's a con artist. He needs to come on this podcast! He's had lots of hate but let's give him a chance to tell his story.”

Andrews - who is based in Dubai - had been set to fly to the UK to do a joint interview with Price on Good Morning Britain but failed to show up and could not be contacted.

He told Price he had been “bundled into a van” with his hands tied at the Dubai border and taken to a so-called “black site” while attempting to travel to London to be with her.

It was later revealed that he was detained and placed in Al Awir prison.

His family reportedly filed a missing persons report with the British embassy but consular staff in Dubai were reportedly unable to find any trace of him.
