Watch the 2026 Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix live streams to find out whether George Russell, who finished 0.319s ahead of Kimi Antonelli in qualifying, can mount a comeback and narrow the gap to his 19-year-old teammate in the Drivers' Championship. Antonelli will be starting from P3.
Russell and Antonelli were provisionally P1 and P2 in Q3 before Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari split them and claimed the second spot on the front row. The 41-year-old Briton has rediscovered his rhythm and, having won five consecutive races in Barcelona between 2017 and 2021, will be looking to get off the line quickly and secure his first Ferrari victory. The other Ferrari, Charles Leclerc, crashed out in Q3 and will start P10.
Elsewhere, McLaren looked strong all weekend, with defending champion Lando Norris finishing fastest in FP2, but that promise didn't last long. They only just made it out of Q2 and ultimately secured P4 (Norris) and P7 (Piastri) for Sunday's race. Between them are the two Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar.

Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix 2026 Preview
The 2026 Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix will mark the first time the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya hosts an F1 race that’s not called the Spanish Grand Prix, with that title now belonging to Madrid's brand-new street circuit, which will make its debut later this year.
Following an unexpectedly chaotic weekend in Monaco, which was dominated by five-second pit-lane speeding penalties, Barcelona is expected to see a wave of upgrades across the grid. And no big team will be hoping for a bigger step forward than McLaren, who, despite their strong Mercedes power unit, have struggled to consistently challenge at the front this season.
Speaking of power units, the recent ADOU verdict has caused quite a stir. Red Bull reportedly possesses the strongest internal combustion engine, with Mercedes around 2% behind, earning the German manufacturer one additional development upgrade for both this season and next. Audi, Ferrari, and Honda are said to be roughly 4% adrift, granting each of them two extra upgrades across the same period.
Kimi Antonelli entered the weekend as the favorite after a remarkable run of form. Although his P3 in qualifying doesn't rule out a victory, Russell and Hamilton arguably look better placed to claim the 25 points. Speaking of which, Hamilton now sits ahead of Russell in the Drivers' Championship standings.
The bigger question is whether the likes of Lando Norris, Max Verstappen, and Charles Leclerc – who recently found himself at the centre of Ferrari's brake-related frustrations with supplier Brembo following his crash in Monaco – can close the gap and make the fight at the front even more competitive.
