Once you’re past the initial stages of setting up your farm in Solarpunk, your first task is to build an airship. The airship has many important uses, including the ability to visit other islands.
Let’s find out how to build and then upgrade your airship. First, you’ll need to have an airship dock.

How to craft an airship dock in Solarpunk
To build your airship dock, you’ll need three different resources.
- 40 Wood: Just chop down trees with your axe, and you should have more than plenty.
- Three Cloth: You’ll first need to plant cotton using seeds on suitable plots. You can then use the cotton to create cloth at the workbench.
- 20 Iron: First, mine iron ore using your pickaxe. Next, build a furnace that allows you to smelt all kinds of ore. When you smelt iron ore in it, you’ll get Iron. You’ll also need to use wood as fuel, so chop down some extra trees if required.
Once your airship dock is ready, you can proceed towards getting your airship. You’ll have to have unlocked the Research Table, and get to Tier 3 to access Airship Dock. Here’s our guide on all the available unlocks available from Research.
How to craft your airship in Solarpunk
Your airship dock is where you craft your airship (by using the workbench). You’ll need the following resources:
- Three Cloth: Comes from Cotton
- 10 Iron: Same process as the airship dock.
- One Crashed Airship Component: You’ll find plenty of crashed airship on the first island. You can salvage a Crashed Airship Component from them by stripping the parts.
Once you have collected all the materials, use the workbench to craft your airship. First, your vehicle will have limited scope when traveling from one area to another. You can expand this by upgrading your airship.
To upgrade your airship, you’ll need an Airship Upgrade item. You can find it by completing different trades. Once obtained, upgrade your airship to travel further.
