How Much Does It Cost to Live Alone in Gurgaon? A 25-Year-Old Breaks Down Her Expenses

In the viral video, Kangana revealed that despite carefully managing her finances, balancing savings and EMIs remains difficult due to her income level. Her candid disclosure resonated with many viewers who relate to the rising cost of living.

Rent Takes the Largest Share of Her Budget

Housing is Kangana's biggest monthly expense. She lives in a one-room kitchen (1RK) apartment in Gurgaon and pays ₹13,000 in rent every month.

Utility costs add to this expense. According to Kangana, her electricity bill usually ranges between ₹1,000 and ₹1,300, particularly during the summer months when air-conditioning usage increases due to Gurgaon's intense heat.

Commuting Costs Add Up

Travel is another essential part of her monthly budget. Kangana spends approximately ₹3,500 every month commuting to work and coaching classes. She primarily relies on bike-taxi services and maintains an Uber One membership that costs around ₹150 per month.

Internet and Entertainment Remain Affordable

To stay connected and entertained, Kangana allocates around ₹700 each month for internet services. She also subscribes to streaming platforms such as Spotify, YouTube, and Netflix, which collectively cost her another ₹700 monthly.

A Structured Food Budget

Food expenses are largely controlled through a fixed tiffin service. Kangana spends ₹3,300 per month on meals that cover both lunch and dinner.

Additionally, she spends roughly ₹700 on breakfast essentials, including muesli and milk. Coffee is another non-negotiable part of her routine.

"I need at least one cup of coffee every day. It gets me going," she said, estimating her monthly coffee expenditure at around ₹1,500.

Small Expenses Make a Difference

Apart from major expenses, Kangana highlighted several smaller costs that contribute significantly to her overall spending.

Being lactose intolerant, she purchases specialized milk, which costs her approximately ₹25 to ₹26 per day. Since most of her meals are covered through the tiffin service, grocery spending remains relatively low.

She also sets aside around ₹2,000 each month for occasional outings, street food, and miscellaneous shopping. Personal care and hygiene products add another ₹1,000 to her monthly expenses.

Savings and EMIs Remain a Challenge

After covering all regular expenses, whatever money remains is directed toward savings or EMI payments. However, Kangana admitted that maintaining both consistently is not easy.

"I do not earn enough to manage both comfortably every month," she shared in the video.

Internet Appreciates Her Transparency

Kangana's openness about her finances received praise from many social media users, with viewers appreciating the realistic and detailed breakdown of her monthly budget.

One commenter expressed curiosity about her accommodation, writing, "I am genuinely interested to know about the location you are living in because a 1RK at this price is very good. Let me know if you can."

Another user praised her financial planning, commenting, "This is really well managed. I like how clearly you have broken it down."

As conversations around personal finance continue to gain momentum online, Kangana's budget breakdown has highlighted the everyday financial challenges faced by young professionals trying to build a life in India's rapidly growing urban centers.
