Formula 2 and Formula 3 reveal new logos mid-season

Formula 2 and Formula 3 have unveiled redesigned logos ahead of this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix as part of a wider rebrand.

Working together with Formula 1 and the FIA, the two championships have refreshed their branding, with the new visual identity coming into effect immediately.

F2 retains its traditional blue colour scheme, but the logo has been simplified “for a neater and more modern look”. The previous design used two shades of blue across the 'F' and '2', while the new logo adopts a single-colour approach.

F3, meanwhile, switched to a vibrant orange logo, replacing the grey-and-red palette used previously.

In a joint statement, the two series said the new logos “compliment the iconic F1 identity” and “reflect their role as the final steps on the road to F1 for the world’s most promising young drivers.”

F2 and F3 further stated that the updated logos will be rolled out across their platforms and assets, including digital channels, broadcast graphics, trackside branding and promotional materials.

“I am delighted to unveil our new F2 and F3 logos, which have been developed in close collaboration with Formula 1 and the FIA,” said F2 and F3 CEO Bruno Michel.

“Our aim was to better visually convey the journey towards Formula 1 through the elite motorsport pyramid. Blue has always been F2’s colour and is well recognised by its fans, and for F3, we’ve taken the opportunity to inject a brand-new, vibrant and dynamic orange into the logo, which we believe the fans will love.”

F1 itself went through a major rebrand following Liberty Media’s acquisition of the series from CVC Capital in 2017.

The two feeder categories were in the midst of a significant overhaul during the same period.

It was only at the beginning of 2017 that GP2 was rebranded as F2, while the present-day F3 series was launched two years later following a merger between GP3 and European Formula 3.
