A car crashed into a group of pedestrians in Scotland leaving five people in hospital, including a 12-year-old boy in a serious condition.
Police Scotland said the collision happened on the A907 Clackmannan Road, Alloa, on Sunday at about 2.40pm.
The 12-year-old boy was airlifted to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, and a 43-year-old woman was treated for minor injuries at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow and was later released.
Another boy, aged eight, and a woman, 81, were taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital and were released following treatment.
The driver, a 70-year-old man in a Grey Kia Ceed, was also checked by medical professionals at hospital.
Road closures were put in place and later reopened at 8.45pm, with the exception of a closure still in place next to Alloa Stadium.
Inspector David Marr, of Police Scotland’s Forth Valley road policing unit, said: “Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
“If you were driving in the area around the time, particularly just before the incident happened, then please check any dashcam you have in case something has been captured that could help with our investigation.”
Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1746 of Sunday 17 May.
