Death toll mounts to 31 in Ethiopia bus crash; dozens sustain injuries

The death toll from a passenger bus crash in Ethiopia's Amhara region has risen to 31, authorities said on Monday, as rescue teams continued recovery operations and treatment of the injured.

The bus, which was travelling from Dessie to the capital Addis Ababa, plunged into a 100-metre-deep ravine after veering off the road. Dozens of passengers were injured in the accident, with several reported to be in serious condition.
