British Airways to raise Avios reward ticket prices again – here’s when to book by to avoid increase

• British Airways is increasing the cash component of reward tickets booked using Avios , effective from Wednesday 27 May.
• Customers have been given five days' notice of the price rises, which will see the cash element increase by up to 33 per cent.
• For example, a Club World ticket from London Heathrow to New York JFK will now require £499, an increase of approximately £100, in addition to the unchanged Avios amount.
• This marks the second devaluation in five months, with the airline attributing the changes to rising fuel costs, likely due to the Middle East crisis.
• While some passengers may be deterred by the increased cash element, many who accumulate Avios through company spending are expected to remain loyal to BA.
