Armed police and Swat team respond to incident close to England World Cup stadium

  • Arlington Police, including a SWAT team, responded to a serious domestic dispute involving a weapon and a barricaded resident on West Division Street in Texas .
  • The incident took place near the AT&T Stadium, where England are due to face Croatia in the World Cup on Wednesday.
  • It concluded with a suspect in custody and no injuries reported, with authorities stating it had no connection to the upcoming World Cup or posed any threat to the tournament.
  • Separately, some of England 's training equipment, including boots and official tournament balls, was stolen while in transit to their World Cup base in Kansas City.
  • The Independent understands the stolen items were not irreplaceable, and England staff have already recovered some of the missing equipment. Two men, Mustafa Salik and Erfan Kamal, have been charged with receiving stolen property in relation to the incident.
