15-year-old boy fights for life after being stabbed in east London

A 15-year-old boy has been left fighting for his life after being stabbed in east London.

The teenager was attacked in Ilford at around 4.55pm on Saturday.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Ilford Lane, where the stabbing took place, remains closed between Winston Way and Grange Road as the Metropolitan Police continue their investigation.

The 169, EL1 and SL2 buses are on diversion as a result.

A spokesperson for the Met said: "Around 4.55pm on Saturday, June 13, officers attended Ilford Lane, Ilford, following reports of a stabbing.

"Police attended with the London Ambulance Service. A 15-year-old boy was treated at the scene for stab injuries. He was taken to hospital, where he remains in life-threatening condition.

"A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He was taken into police custody, where he remains."

Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to call 101 and quote reference 5194/13JUN.
