- Play was halted in the 36th minute with the score at 0-0 after Rayo goalkeeper Augusto Batalla sat on the pitch.
- He then gestured towards supporters in the stands, drawing referee Maurizio Mariani's attention.
- The managers of both sides were informed of the situation, and there was a pause of around four minutes while the supporter received attention.
- Adam Summerton said on commentary for TNT Sports : "What we're hearing is that there has been a medical emergency, sadly, amongst the Rayo Vallecano supporters. Our best wishes to the supporter affected in that stand, we hope everyone involved is OK."
