Who is leading the Giro d'Italia 2026? Afonso Eulálio holds on to pink through a challenging stage 11

Filippo Ganna.

As was widely predicted, Portugal's Alfonso Eulálio (Bahrain Victorious) held on to the pink jersey after a tough day out in the hills on the Giro d'Italia's stage 11.

Run off slightly inland from yesterday's time trial, today's stage took riders 195km north from Porcari to Chiavari, in northern Italy.

The second half was replete with big hills – perfect breakaway territory that saw UAE Team Emirates-XRG's Jhonatan Narvaez complete his hat-trick of stages after escaping with Enric Mas (Movistar).

With the GC group finishing together at 3.24, there was little change in the top-10, though Chris Harper of Pinarello Q36.5 moves into 10th position in place of Markel Beloki (EF Education-EasyPost). Eulálio will wear pink again tomorrow for the seventh day, and retains his lead in the young rider classification too.

We're starting to get used to seeing Visma-Lease a Bike's Jonas Vingegaard in his azure blue mountains jersey and with no movement in the top-three in that classification that isn't going to change just yet. Likewise Paul Magnier (Soudal Quick-Step) retains the ciclamino points jersey.
