Black Ops Royale launched in Call of Duty: Warzone after months of anticipation. But while the game mode hit the mark in recreating the beloved Blackout experience, one playlist was notably missing. At launch, Black Ops Royale didn’t feature a Solos playlist, with players forced to play Quads instead.
While Raven Software’s data indicated that Quads are by far the most popular games across all other game modes in Warzone, the incredible community response forced the developer to reconsider the decision. So, when are Solos coming Warzone Black Ops Royale?
Black Ops Royale Solos release date in Warzone

On March 19, Activision announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Black Ops Royale Solos are set to be added to playlists on March 20 at 12pm CT / 10am PT / 1pm ET / 5pm GMT. This addition includes both the public playlist and private match selections.
Raven Software noted that Black Ops Royale was initially built with Quads in mind, meaning the gameplay isn’t fully optimized for a solo experience just yet. The developers added that they’ll continue collecting player feedback to further refine the Solos playlist over time.
Raven Software previously announced that Solos will be coming to the game in response to community feedback. According to their post on X, Solos will be added to the game as a “Private Match option” to help gather data.

While this will require some backend work and a few changes that need to happen before it goes live, we’re excited to get Solos into the game and we’ll share more details on timing as we get closer to deploying. We plan to add Solos as a Private Match option next week to help gather early data on match pacing and overall balance. – Raven Software on X
Unfortunately, that Private Match condition has become another point of contention for the community. Players were quick to point out that organizing a private match with 50 players would be an incredibly difficult task for the players who were asking for Solos in the first place. Some members of the Warzone subreddit also pointed out that currently Raven Software does not allow players to fill private matches with bots, making the process even harder.
Now, there’s finally good news, as Activision has confirmed that the Battle Royale Solos playlist is officially on the way, featuring both public playlist and private match option (although this may not still allow bots). It may not be perfectly tuned at the start, but it’s a big step toward giving solo players the experience they’ve been asking for.
