Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of the president’s son Donald Trump Jr, has announced that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer, prompting members of the family to rally round and express their support.
Taking to Instagram, the former model, 48, wrote late Wednesday: “I want to share a personal health update. I’ve been recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
“While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan. I would like to thank my doctors for performing a procedure earlier this week on me.
She continued: “I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me.
“Thank you for your kindness and support, it truly means more than I can express. I kindly ask for privacy as I focus on my health and recovery.”
Among those commenting in support of the post was Ivanka Trump, her former sister-in-law, who posted: “Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery. Love you mama.”
Another former sister-in-law, Tiffany Trump, liked Vanessa’s post.
Her eldest daughter, Kai Trump, one of five children she has with Don Jr, wrote: “Love you! Strongest person ever.”
Kai also posted a picture of herself with her mother on her own Instagram page from her graduation ceremony last week and commented again: “Strongest person I know. Love you.”
Other notable people sending well-wishes were former FBI deputy director and MAGA podcaster Dan Bongino and recently-retired UFC fighter Colby Covington.

Vanessa Trump was married to Don Jr between 2005 and 2018. In addition to Kai, 19, their children are 17-year-old Donald, 14-year-old Tristan, 13-year-old Spencer, and Chloe, 11.
Last year, she began a relationship with the troubled golfing superstar Tiger Woods, who was arrested for driving under the influence in March after he was involved in a rollover car accident while driving in Jupiter Island, Florida.
After the crash, Woods said he would miss the Masters to get help, explaining: “This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.
“I'm committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”
According to People, the golfer has just returned to the U.S. after seeking treatment abroad.
