Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is a 'Genetic Djinn': Pakistani cricket 'expert' says RR IPL star has brought baseball mechanics in cricket

In IPL 2026 season packed with superstar performances, one teenager has managed to steal the spotlight with fearless batting and astonishing maturity. Rajasthan Royals’ young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has already become one of the biggest talking points of the IPL, is now drawing admiration beyond India’s borders after a Pakistani cricket analyst described him as a “Genetic Djinn” for the unique power he brings to the crease.

The remark came from Pakistani cricket historian and television personality Dr. Nauman Niaz, who recently analysed the 15-year-old batter’s technique in detail. Praising the youngster’s natural power-hitting ability, Niaz said Sooryavanshi combines traditional cricket shots with body mechanics more commonly associated with baseball sluggers.

Breaking down the teenager’s method, Niaz pointed to the way Sooryavanshi generates power through his lower body and timing. According to him, the youngster uses a strong back-leg setup, inward body coil and explosive hip rotation, movements often seen in elite baseball hitters.
