Uttar Pradesh weather: Uttar Pradesh is reeling under intense heatwave conditions with Banda district remaining the hottest city in India for the third day in a row at 48.2 degrees Celsius. The temperatures in Banda were recorded at 47.6 degrees and 46.4 degrees Celsius, respectively. For Wednesday, the Lucknow Meteorological Centre has issued a red alert and has warned of severe heat conditions in Banda, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Agra, Firozabad, Etawah, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba and Jhansi.

According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures in these districts are expected to remain 3 to 4 degrees Celsius above normal levels. The scorching afternoon winds could pose serious health risks, especially in Bundelkhand and the southern regions of the state, where the heatwave conditions are considered most severe.
Mohammad Danish, senior scientist at the Meteorological Centre told UNI, "Heatwave to severe heatwave conditions are likely to prevail during the day in many parts of the southern part of the state and in other regions. The nights will also be unusually hot in some places, providing no relief from the day's heat.
Lucknow weather today
Lucknow is also likely to experience extremely high temperatures on Wednesday, with the maximum temperature expected to stay between 43°C and 45°C. UP's capital may witness hazy sunshine along with strong hot winds during the afternoon hours. Nighttime conditions are also expected to remain uncomfortable, as minimum temperatures could stay above 30°C.
No significant rainfall activity is forecast for the city on Wednesday, and intense heat discomfort is expected to continue well into the evening.
Noida, Ghaziabad heat conditions
In Noida, the temperature is expected to stay extremely high on Wednesday and temperature may rise to around 45°C, while minimum temperatures could remain close to 31°C. Bright sunshine and hot surface winds are expected through the afternoon, significantly increasing heat stress levels. Weather conditions are likely to remain dry with almost no chance of rain. Similar weather conditions are likely in Ghaziabad with strong winds throughout the day. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 45 degrees and 30 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Severe heatwave in Uttar Pradesh
The IMD has warned of severe heatwaves in 14 districts of Uttar Pradesh which include Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Chandauli, Varanasi, Ballia, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur City, Rae Barelli, Auraiya and Lalitpur. The weather is likely to remain dry in the state with strong winds blowing at a speed of 20kmph to 40kmph. Nights are expected to remain warm in western Uttar Pradesh for the next 48 hours after which an orange alert might be in place.
On Tuesday, many cities in UP breached the 40 degree mark and among the hottest cities in UP were Jhansi and Agra, which recorded a maximum temperature of 46.5 degrees Celsius each, followed by Prayagraj at 45.8 degrees Celsius.
