- DoorDash unveiled its inaugural "Donut Day Dozens" list, ranking 100 of the highest-rated small and mid-sized donut shops across 86 cities in 25 states, ahead of National Donut Day on June 5.
- The selection criteria for the list included independent and regional shops with fewer than 10 locations, at least 1,000 lifetime reviews, and high ratings on the DoorDash platform, based on data collected between April 2025 and April 2026.
- California significantly dominated the ranking with 39 shops, nearly double the number of Texas (20 shops), while Washington placed third with only four shops.
- To celebrate, DoorDash is partnering with Krispy Kreme to offer customers up to $7 off qualifying orders placed through the app from June 4 to June 18.
- National Donut Day, observed annually on the first Friday in June, originated from a 1938 Salvation Army initiative honoring volunteers who served donuts to soldiers during World War I.
