Tifa, Vega, Haggar, and Gouken could be the next Street Fighter 6 DLC characters

A new Street Fighter 6 leak claims Capcom’s next season of DLC will include Vega, Haggar, Gouken, and Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII.

According to the claim made by RnK Lucius on a now-deleted Reddit post, all these characters are coming in the Year 4 Season Pass.

This would be just an ignored “leak” from the usual rumor mill if not for the leaker having an actual track record, as they previously broke the information on the Year 2 lineup with Terry, Elena, and Bison before Capcom’s official reveal.

If true, the lineup itself could be a very curious one. Vega is one of the longest-running legacy names in the franchise and a super-popular character that would have an immediate audience, especially in Japan. Gouken would bring back Ryu and Ken’s master after a long absence and add another Shoto character into the mix. Mike Haggar is an interesting case, as that would put another Final Fight character into the roster, which is not unusual for Street Fighter, even if Haggar himself has never been part of the series’ regular playable rotation.

The most interesting addition would, of course, be Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII. She has always been a very fighting game-coded character, as she fights in melee using punches and kicks. Her gameplay in the recent Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth garnered the most attention, as we finally saw her playable in HD, and her moves could have been put in any fighting game with little to no alteration and still make sense.

Many expected her to end up in Tekken 8, as 3D movement fits her style really well. But Bandai Namco Entertainment and the Tekken Project chose Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy XVI instead, to the dismay of many.

Street Fighter 6 has been open for guest characters already, with Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui making a jump from SNK.

Tifa Lockhart’s appearance in Street Fighter 6 would put lots of new eyes on the game, as she’s quite possibly the most popular female video game character currently.

Still, this is a rumor, and Capcom has been known for putting out false information to weed out the leakers in the past, so until anything is confirmed, take everything with a major pinch of salt.

In any case, it’s almost time for the new Season Pass reveal anyway, and it’ll likely come during the Evo Japan 2026 event in early May, or Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest in June.
