- Mr Boon revealed his force is dealing with an "incredible" level of abuse, which has escalated online and during recent disorder in Southampton following the sentencing for Henry Nowak 's murder.
- He stated that these "threats and violence" are being used to "forward their agenda" by exploiting the "appalling tragedy" of Mr Nowak's death.
- The chief constable praised his officers' "brave" handling of the disorder in the Portswood area, which led to two arrests, with further arrests expected as investigations continue.
- Mr Boon dismissed allegations of "two-tier policing" and acknowledged the ongoing Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) investigation into the handling of the incident involving Mr Nowak, expressing understanding for the family's distress.
