The Looki L1 wearable AI device turned my daily life into a comic book — then it harshly judged my embarrassing diet

Lookie l1.

I've tested a few AI wearable devices that act as your daily personal assistant, no matter if you stay inside all day or step foot into the outside world. Perusing through all of them exposed me to the Looki L1, which is promoted as a reliable AI assistant that hangs around your neck and works in conjunction with an app to help you every step of the way.

My curiosity led me to finally getting one — the promise of a miniature life coordinator observing my daily habits to give me tailored wellness advice, productivity tips and activity suggestions excited me.

After spending two weeks with the Looki L1 AI wearable device, I walked away with three major learnings: it offers shockingly helpful life hobby suggestions, its ability to create vlogs & comic strips is awesome and it keeps a close eye on whatever you’re munching on during your lunch break.

Creating a daily vlog, animating me in a comic strip, sending me activity suggestions and more

For two weeks, the Looki L1 lived wrapped around my neck. Operating entirely in "AI Mode," it quietly captured my daily routine, snapping quick photos and weaving key moments into video snippets.

My workday is standard fare: walk to the station, catch two trains into Manhattan, grind through the standard 9-to-5, and head home. From my morning commute until I finally collapsed onto the couch, the L1 observed everything.

Throughout the day, the companion app chimed in with genuinely useful, context-aware advice. Since my office sits near Bryant Park, it flagged upcoming free concerts and nudged me to catch some sun during lunch. It even offered wellness tips, like reminding me to stare out the window for a minute to give my eyes a break from my laptop screen.

The real magic happened once I got home and saw how the L1 summarized my day. It generated a polished little vlog titled "City Rhythm Found," complete with a surprisingly poetic synopsis:

Follow a journey from the quiet, sun-drenched streets of a residential neighborhood to the focused hum of a Manhattan office. This vlog captures the steady pulse of a city day through subway commutes and digital meetings. It is a reflective look at the small details that make up our daily routines.

Equally impressive was the AI-generated comic strip. By transforming mundane moments—like grabbing lunch at Wendy’s — into stylized panels, it made my ordinary routine feel like a page straight out of a Marvel or DC comic. For a moment, I felt like the main character in my own animated story.

Taking note of my eating habits and judging me quite harshly

Speaking of Wendy’s, the Looki L1 went from my daily photographer/ videographer to my harsh dietician whenever it took note of my lunch.

I’ll admit — there were three days during one week when I munched on some Pollo Campero, Chick-fil-A and Chicken Guy! (Guy Fieri’s shockingly delicious fast food spot near Times Square). The Looki LI watched me scarf down my deep-fried meal one day and proceeded to give a super detailed breakdown via its “Daily Diet Analysis.”

My Chicken Guy! meal was measured through a nutritional breakdown and compared to my previous meals through my lunch pattern observations, and then I was given suggestions for the next day on what I should consume the next day. The themes of hydrating mindfully, adding a fresh element and considering a smaller, earlier snake came up as the Looki L1 told me my eating habits are horrible in the nicest ways possible.

An AI wearable device that I’d consider for varied outdoor pursuits

My two-week hangout with the Looki L1 wearable AI device proved to be equal parts enlightening and hilarious.

Getting a peek at summaries, daily vlogs and comic book strips starring me were some of my most memorable moments with my mini AI assistant. And having it tell me to lay off the chicken strips and indulge in some fruit salad made me chuckle at how harsh (but realistic) with its healthy eating advice.

I can’t wait to throw this thing around my neck during my more exciting expeditions — the comic book strip version of me tackling a hiking trail or a vlog detailing my next vacation will definitely produce some unforgettable content.
