Sir Keir Starmer has responded to pleas to lower the price of Cadbury’s Mini Eggs.
In a TikTok posted ahead of Easter on Wednesday (1 April), the prime minister has a banner above his head asking: “Can you lower the price of Mini Eggs?”
Starmer said the price of the sweet treat is often going in “one direction” and he understands that it’s “really frustrating” for consumers.
He added: “The answer is, we can't tell supermarkets what to charge, but I know that whatever's going on in the world, and there's a lot, whatever's going on in politics, and there's a lot, for most people the cost of living is the single most important issue."
