South Korean YouTuber sentenced to 18 months in prison after attacking fellow content creator

A South Korean female YouTuber has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after attacking a male content creator whom she believed she was dating. The case has drawn attention online after details of the court’s decision were reported by Dexerto. According to the report, the incident happened in September 2025 during or shortly after one of the man’s live broadcasts. Prosecutors said the woman stabbed him multiple times in the abdomen after he rejected her. While the injuries were serious, they were not considered life threatening.

The case became widely discussed because both people were involved in online content creation. It also raised questions about personal relationships that develop through social media and live streaming platforms. Court records cited in the report showed that the woman believed the two were in a romantic relationship. However, the man did not share that view. The disagreement eventually led to a violent confrontation that ended with criminal charges being filed against her.
