SIX more men have been arrested in connection with disorder at the Scottish Cup Quarter Final between Rangers and Celtic earlier this year.

Several officers and members of the public were injured after fans invaded the pitch in the immediate aftermath of Celtic’s penalty shootout victory over their Glasgow rivals on March 8.

Dozens of travelling Celtic fans spilled onto the pitch to celebrate and more than 100 Rangers fans charged to confront them.

Police and stewards formed a barrier to prevent large-scale interaction but there was violence and missiles, including a lit flare, were thrown.

Police said a 10-year-old child had been hit by a coin and one officer was hit on the head by a bottle.

Footage also showed a female officer being kicked to the ground from behind by a Rangers fan who was sprinting towards the Broomloan stand, which held 7500 Celtic supporters.

Police have already made a number of arrests as part of Operation Moonglint, which was launched to investigate the disorder and identify those involved.

On Tuesday, Police Scotland confirmed that officers have made further arrests in connection with the disorder.

Six men, aged 59, 45, 43, 40, 23 and 18, have been arrested and charged in connection with various offences including assault, culpable and reckless conduct and breach of the peace.

They will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court in due course.

This brings the total number of arrests in connection with the disorder to 37.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to get in touch by calling 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Alternatively, information can also be sent directly to the investigations team through the Major Incident Public Portal.
