Rangers will step up their preparations for the new campaign with a training camp in Austria next month.

Danny Rohl’s side are due to return to pre-season training at Auchenhowie next week as the German coach begins plotting his second attempt at securing the Premiership title.

The Rangers Review reports that plans include a week-long trip to the continent, with Rohl set to put his squad through their paces in the Austrian Alps.

The Ibrox side are scheduled to depart Glasgow on Friday, July 10, before returning seven days later, with a friendly match expected to be arranged during the camp.

Rohl will be without several key players for the opening phase of pre-season. Summer signing Lawrence Shankland, along with Scotland internationals John Souttar, Liam Kelly and Findlay Curtis, will be unavailable due to their involvement at the World Cup.

Nico Raskin and Thelo Aasgaard are also set to report back later as preparations continue, and further additions to the squad are currently being explored.
