Police confirm human remains believed to be missing Canberra man

More than a month after Warren Gamble was reported missing in Canberra police say they found human remains believed to be of the 42-year-old.

On May 6, ACT Policing confirmed they had found what were thought to be Gamble's remains at a private property in February this year, after he was last seen on Christmas Eve 2025.

Police say there were no suspicious circumstances or foulplay involved in the man's death.

In a statement on May 28, ACT Policing said that DNA analysis had confirmed the identification of the missing man.

A report will be prepared for the coroner, who will determine the cause of death.

In an earlier public appeal to find Gamble, police had released a photo of him on January 25 stating he was last believed to be in Woden, and was known to frequent the area under Xavier's Bridge near the Woden Cemetery.

"Police and Warren's family hold concerns for his welfare, and are requesting the public's assistance to locate him," a police spokeswoman had said on January 25.
