Pimlico stabbing: Man, 20, fighting for life after attack in central London

A man has been left fighting for his life after being stabbed in central London.

Police were called to Lupus Street in Pimlico at around 12.05am on Thursday to reports of a stabbing.

The 20-year-old male victim was raced to hospital in critical condition where he remains.

There have been no arrests following the attack.

Images shared on social media show a heavy police presence with tents in place.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: "Police were called at around 12.06am on Thursday, June 4, to reports of an assault on Lupus Street, Westminster.

"Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service. A 20-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab injuries, where he remains in critical condition.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries remain ongoing. Officers are continuing their enquiries at pace and encourage witnesses to come forward.”

Pimlico station was shut following the incident but has since reopened. A police cordon remains in place.

Lupus Street is close to Vauxhall Bridge and tourist hotspot Tate Britain.

In response to the horrific attack, newly appointed Westminster City Council leader Paul Swaddle said on X: “I'm aware of reports of the stabbing of a young man in Pimlico.

“We are awaiting further details and will work with the Metropolitan police and offer community help where we can. Thoughts with the victim.”

It comes after a recent spate of stabbings across the capital during the recent heatwave.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 42/04JUNE or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
