'Not laughing anymore': Bukayo Saka and Myles Lewis-Skelly deliver verdict on Arsenal Premier League title win

Bukayo Saka and Myles Lewis-Skelly have hit back at claims Arsenal are “bottlers” after clinching the Premier League title.

Having finished runners-up in the three previous Premier League seasons and failing to get over the line in several other competitions during the tenure of Mikel Arteta, the Gunners have often been criticised for collapsing at the business end of a campaign.

However, Arsenal ended their 22-year wait for a Premier League crown after Manchester City failed to pick up all three points away at Bournemouth on Tuesday evening.

In the hours since the Gunners were confirmed as league champions, wild scenes of celebrations have been shared across social media.

Supporters descended on the Emirates Stadium to get the title party started, along with Arsenal legend Ian Wright, while players and staff soaked in the moment at the club’s training ground.

Present at London Colney were Saka and Lewis-Skelly, with the pair taking a swipe at the aforementioned “bottlers” claim.

A clip from Saka’s Instagram account shows Lewis-Skelly holding a bottle of champagne and saying: “They called us bottlers, and now we're holding the bottles!"

Saka’s reaction to Arsenal’s title win did not stop there as he was later on Jurrien Timber’s Instagram story to share a pointed message as the club’s detractors.

He said: “Let me tell you something, 22 years, they were laughing and joking, they’re not laughing anymore, look, it’s going to be shining.”

Saka, Lewis-Skelly and Timber are set to get their hands on a first Premier League winners' medal on Sunday after Arsenal conclude their league campaign away at London rivals Crystal Palace.

The Gunners will also lift the Premier League trophy at Selhurst Park before attentions turn to the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain six days later and the opportunity to complete an unique double.
