No7’s New Skincare Range Under $30 Is Dividing The Internet, So We Put It To The Test

If there’s one thing about the beauty world I know to be true, it’s that we’re all obsessed with glass skin. And if a new product hits the market that claims to achieve that, we’ll all run to try it out. So when No7’s Good Intent Range launched in Priceline, it was big news for Australian fans of the affordable UK skincare brand.

While the Good Intent range isn’t new, it’s taken a hot minute for it to come across to Australian shores. It launched in the UK late last year, and is inspired by the hydration-focused principles that have made Korean beauty a global phenomenon. With a 12-product lineup and nothing exceeding $30, it’s designed for skincare lovers working on a tight budget.

It’s received mixed reviews on social media, with TikToker @beautybynori saying the brand’s Moisture Milk Toner is one “of the best milky toners on the market”, with “less comedogenic ingredients” than Rhode’s viral Glazing Milk. On the other end of the spectrum is the Good Intent Glow Grind Cleansing Balm, which reviewers are saying doesn’t live up to the hype. In a TikTok, content creator James Welsh said it “looks like dry paint” and “feels very disappointing”.

So, how does No7’s polarising range really stack up? I tried five of the products in the Good Intent collection to decide for myself, as well as help you decipher which products are worth your dollars, and which ones you can skip out on. The lineup? The Glow Grind Cleansing Balm, Skin Sip Moisture Milk, Pore Buff Clarifying Acid Pads, Calm Fix Soothing Pads and Bouncy Jelly Mask.

The Products To Try (And Skip) From No7’s Good Intent Range

No7 Good Intent Glow Grind Cleansing Balm

I love a good cleansing balm for taking off makeup, especially in the shower. However, this one didn’t do it for me. While it feels really nice and gentle on the skin, it didn’t feel like it was doing a good job at taking my makeup off. The makeup that stained my towel when patting my face dry proved it.

No7 Good Intent Skin Sip Moisture Milk

Milky toners are the it girl of skincare RN, so if a brand is bringing out one to compete in an already-saturated market, you’d hope it’s good. Well, the Skin Sip Moisture Milk certainly is! It has a slightly thicker consistency than straight up liquid, and melts into the skin, leaving it with a glassy glow. I’ve used it both as skincare and as a glow booster for my foundation by mixing a couple drops in, and it’s added a radiance to my otherwise matte foundation

No7 Good Intent Pore Buff Clarifying Acid Pads

I was a little nervous to try the Pore Buff Clarifying Acid Pads since I’m on acne medication and my dermatologist warned me about acids, exfoliants and actives. Alas, I’m a woman who is dedicated to a review, so I took the pad to my face and gave a nervous-albeit-thorough swipe. I didn’t break out in a rash, or experience a burning sensation. Instead, I felt a soft, gentle tingle that comes with more delicate exfoliants. I love this one, and am happy I’ve finally found a roaccutane-friendly gentle exfoliant (although if you’re in the same boat as me, definitely check with your dermatologist before trying).

No7 Good Intent Calm Fix Soothing Pads

The Good Intent Calm Fix Soothing Pads are great to use post-exfoliation, or whenever your skin needs a little hydration boost. You can either use it as a wipe, or leave a couple pads sitting on your cheeks for 15 minutes or so, like a makeshift mask.

No7 Good Intent Bouncy Jelly Mask

I’m in two minds about No7’s Bouncy Jelly Mask. My first impression was that the texture felt really odd. It’s jelly-like, but it’s not really bouncy, it leans more silicone-esque? However I lathered it on my face and left it on overnight, and woke up with supple and soft skin, which is a win!
