NHS sacks 11 staff who accessed Nottingham attack victims’ medical records

  • Nottingham University Hospitals Foundation Trust has dismissed 11 staff members and sanctioned 14 others for inappropriately accessing the medical records of Nottingham attack victims.
  • The victims, students Barnaby Webber and Grace O'Malley-Kumar, and grandfather Ian Coates, were killed in a stabbing rampage by Valdo Calocane on 13 June 2023.
  • The trust's investigation, which commenced in early 2025, aimed to identify wrongdoing and take necessary action.
  • Disciplinary outcomes included 11 dismissals, 12 final written warnings, and two first written warnings.
  • The staff involved in the inappropriate access included doctors, nurses, other registered medical professionals, and administrative personnel.
