McDonald’s has launched its limited edition World Cup 2026 menu.
With just days to go until the start of the football tournament, six new sweet and savoury items will be up for grabs - many of them paying homage to the host nations, the USA and Mexico.
The selection includes a Mexican Chipotle Chicken burger, featuring the Golden Arches signature crispy chicken patty topped with white cheddar, lettuce, a smoky sauce and chipotle mayo.
This burger - priced at £7.49 - comes with a bun shaped like a football for all the footy fanatics.
The Sweet Carolina BBQ Stack comprises two quarter pounder beef patties with cheese, bacon, crispy and grilled onions, and a sweet Carolina BBQ sauce, setting punters back £9.19 for a taste.
Sides have not been left out of the shake-up, with Crunchy Cheese Bites made of Gouda and mozzarella also on the menu.
Dessert enthusiasts will also be pleased to see the return of the Galaxy Salted Caramel McFluffy, which costs just £1.89 for a mini or £2.59 for a regular.
McDonald’s has not been exempt from the matcha craze taking the food world by storm. The fast food giant is now offering a matcha green tea flavoured drink with sweet vanilla and topped with whipped cream.
The Happy Meals have also been given a revamp ahead of the World Cup and will now include Squishmallows dressed in football tops.
A range of collectible cups studded with the faces of football’s best will also be available in celebration of the football frenzy. Some of the famous stars include Heung-Min Son, Lamine Yamal, David Beckham and Thierry Henry.
The cups will be allocated randomly to those ordering a Big Mac, McPlant or nine McNuggets as a medium or large meal.
All the menu items will be available for a limited time, but only while stocks last.
Global chief marketing officer and head of new business ventures at McDonald’s Morgan Flatley said: “At McDonald’s, magic happens when friends and fans come together and celebrate with the people they love.
“Partnering with the FIFA World Cup 26 allows us to take that shared joy and bring it to life at a global scale through our food, our experience, and the ways fans connect with the game.
“As football icons take the field to unite fans across continents, McDonald’s will be there with limited-time meals and keepsakes so fans can be part of the excitement all tournament long and beyond.”
This year has already seen plenty of additions to the fast food giant’s menu, including McGriddles finally landing in the UK from the USA for the first time.
