Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 patch notes: Black Cat, ESU Open Day event and free skins

Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 is all about style, stealth, and a perfectly executed heist. With the long-awaited arrival of Black Cat, the update advances the narrative while delivering a generous mix of free rewards, new cosmetics, and fresh lore for Spider-Man fans and beyond.

The update goes live on April 17, 2026, at 3:00 a.m. CT, with approximately two hours of maintenance expected before the servers come back online.

Black Cat claws her way to the roster

Felicia Hardy officially enters the battlefield, bringing her signature mix of agility, disruption, and high-risk playmaking. Known for her luck-manipulating abilities and acrobatic combat style, Black Cat looks designed to reward aggressive players who thrive on chaos and positioning as a diver.

Her arrival in Marvel Rivals also ties directly into Season 7’s narrative arc. After helping Spidey infiltrate The Vault under the guise of a Trojan Horse plan, Felicia now finds herself entangled in a far more dangerous game involving Kingpin and the ominous Gilded Saint, a demonic force lurking behind New York’s criminal underworld.

Season 7.5’s main limited-time event, ESU Open Day, offers one of the update’s biggest draws: free cosmetics.

By completing event missions, players can unlock the Mantis Black and Gold costume at no cost. Additional themed rewards include character variants for fan-favorites like Squirrel Girl and Psylocke, alongside other progression-based unlocks. Psylocke’s skin is legendary, and it also has a unique ultimate animation for the players.

The event runs from April 17 to June 12, giving players plenty of time to grind out rewards.

Season 7.5 also deepens Marvel Rivals’ narrative with two new lore entries for Black Cat and Spider-Man. Both stories continue the fallout of the Vault break-in and begin setting up the larger threat tied to the Gilded Saint.

New cosmetics joining the game

The in-game store is getting a sizeable refresh alongside the update, with multiple bundles and customization options:

  • Spider-Man’s Peter Parker: The Photographer Bundle
  • Blade’s Starlit Shadow Bundle
  • Black Cat’s Urban Predator Bundle
  • Black Cat’s Gilded Shadow skin
  • Spider-Man Friendly Perch emote
  • Symbiote Spider-Man plush accessory

Additionally, the Season 2 Battle Pass: Flower of Krakoa makes a limited return from April 17 to April 30, giving players another shot at previously available rewards. Once you purchase the battle pass, you can unlock the rewards at your own pace, as with any battle pass in the game.

In addition, players can earn two free skins through Twitch Drops, featuring Daredevil and Gambit in their Will of Galacta variants.
