Manchester City are without both Ruben Dias and John Stones for today’s FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool.

Dias missed Man City’s Carabao Cup final win over Arsenal with a hamstring injury and did not go away with Portugal during the international break, subsequently sitting out friendlies against Mexico and USA.

Stones, meanwhile, was called up by England for their double-header but was an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw with Uruguay before pulling out of the squad ahead of the loss to Japan because of a minor injury.

Marc Guehi was ineligible for the Carabao Cup final but is free to play in the FA Cup despite already featuring for Crystal Palace in the third round prior to his January transfer, but starts today.

James Trafford retains his place as the cup goalkeeper, as does Nico O’Reilly at left-back after his eroics against Arsenal last month.

Nico Gonzalez, Tijjani Reijnders and Phil Foden were all pushing to start, though an eight-day gap in between this fixture and Chelsea away sees Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Rayan Cherki continue in midfield.

Erling Haaland is fresh after not going away on international duty with Norway.
