Seven people were taken to hospital after residents were rescued from a burning tower block in London.
Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters were called to blaze in Falkirk House, just off the A5 in Maida Vale this morning.
The LFB said 15 people were led to safety, including six people who needed fire escape hoods.
A total of nine people were treated for burns and for the effects of smoke inhalation, the London Ambulance Service said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A flat on the fifth floor of the building was alight.
The Brigade was called at 9.38am and crews from Paddington, West Hampstead, North Kensington, Euston and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The fire was under control by 12.05pm, the LFB said.
Station Commander Emma Carr, who was at the scene, said: “Firefighters worked hard to bring the fire under control, which was contained to a single flat.
"The wind was causing a significant amount of smoke to spread across the area. People who live or work nearby were advised to keep windows and doors closed.
"Our Control Officers took more than 20 calls to the fire and gave vital fire survival guidance to those inside the building on how to stay safe.
"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus led 15 people to safety from the building, including six using fire escape hoods. London Ambulance Service crews are currently on scene assessing people for injuries."
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:“We were called at 9.45am today (20 May) to reports of a fire on Maida Vale, W9.
“We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer, a clinical team manager and paramedics from our hazardous area response team (HART).
“We treated nine people for burns and smoke inhalation. We took seven patients to hospital and discharged the other two patients at the scene.”
