Liverpool: Yan Diomande reveals dream transfer move amid 'verbal agreement'

RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande has hinted that his preferred summer transfer destination would be Paris Saint-Germain, thus handing a blow to Liverpool.

After the confirmed departure of Mohamed Salah, Liverpool are on the market for a replacement and the 19-year-old Ivorian has been one several names linked.

Diomande has had a standout season in the Bundesliga, being voted the league’s best young player due to weighing in with 21 goal contributions in 36 appearances and a completing a league-high total of 118 dribbles.

Understandably, this form has sparked interest from teams around the world and despite Liverpool’s interest, Diomande has made it clear his preference would be a return to France.

“My future? I have a team that takes care of that," Diomande said. "I try to stay as focused as possible. I've loved PSG since I was little.

“I think my father was a PSG supporter. But I'm not thinking about the future, I'm staying focused on the World Cup. We'll see what happens after that."

PSG, similar to Liverpool, are looking to bolster their attacking depth, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Bradley Barcola preferring to play off the left and Ousmane Dembele now being used to a more central position.

Extra depth off the right to provide some competition for Desire Doue will be much needed for PSG if they hope to defend their domestic and European titles again.

With Diomande’s preference clear and a reported verbal agreement in place between him and PSG, it looks as though Liverpool may need to start looking elsewhere unless something goes catastrophically wrong in negotiations the French champions and RB Leipzig.
