Jake Lehmann has converted a fifty into three figures at the sixth attempt as Hampshire avoided defeat at home in the County Championship for the first time in 10 months.
Champions and table-toppers Nottinghamshire had hoped to rip through the hosts on the final day to secure victory, but despite Fergus O'Neill taking match figures of 8-86 they found his fellow Australian blocking their path as they finished on 6-207 with a lead of 192.
Lehmann, who qualifies as a domestic player, had scored five half-centuries – all in succession – earlier in the season before batting out the day for a 205-ball 102 not out.
The draw means both sides take 11 points from the match, enough to keep Nottinghamshire top, but not enough for Hampshire to escape the bottom.
💯 for Lehmann

Lehmann, the son of Australia great and Northamptonshire head coach Darren, has been a rare bright spark in Hampshire's underperforming batting line-up.
His unconventional stance, almost standing completely front on when the ball is delivered, looks susceptible to lbws and getting the ball onto the offside, but a mixture of quick hands and repositioned feet means he is difficult to dismiss.
He stuttered his way through the late 80s and early 90s before reaching his century – the 17th of his first-class career – with a flick off his hips for four.
There was good news too for Lehmann senior as Northants gained a two-wicket victory over Cameron Bancroft's Division Two bottom club Gloucestershire.
Nathan McSweeney made a valuable 46 as Northants chased down a victory target of 249.

Back in Division One, Yorkshire thrashed Surrey by an innings and 127 runs with Harry Brook taking 3-11. The weather denied Somerset a victory shot against Sussex, for whom Daniel Hughes made 21 after his first-innings century, and Beau Webster was not required at the crease as Warwickshire batted out for a draw with Glamorgan.
Ben Stokes made 45 for Durham in his first innings of the season, which has been delayed due to facial injuries received in the nets post-Ashes.
The England skipper, who took 1-96 in 19 overs when Kent batted, was dropped twice in his two-hour knock. Durham went on to avoid the follow on and force a draw after a 158-run tenth-wicket partnership.
