Katie Price has reportedly begun to realise she could be heading to divorce with her husband Lee Andrews, who remains in a Dubai jail.
The controversial businessman, who has faced accusations of being a conman, faces a reported £100,000 fine to be released from prison after he was arrested last month.
Andrews was detained for a “private civil matter” but insisted to Price that he was kidnapped on suspicion of espionage.
The TV star and Andrews’ family launched an international appeal to find him after he went missing for two weeks, with Price later revealing he was “alive and well” at Dubai’s Al Awir Central Prison.
She flew out to Dubai to visit him earlier this week to publicly maintain a brave face but is privately “in pieces” over the situation, sources claimed.
The three-time divorcee, 48, reportedly feels “confused” over Andrews’ actions and fears she will be “heading to the divorce court again”.
“Katie is in pieces. To the outside world she wants to keep up the bravado. But inside she can't believe how Lee has made her look,” a source told the Daily Mail.
“He's pulled the wool over lots of people's eyes – especially women. And now, as it's all being played out in the public eye, she's at the forefront of the con.”
The insider said the previously bankrupt star - who married Andrews in January just days after meeting him - is hesitant to bail Andrews out and may not have the means to come up with the money.
“Katie is so confused, but ultimately it looks like she will be heading to the divorce court once again,” they stated.
Price’s representative declined to comment when contacted by The Standard.
Price revealed on Wednesday that she has a Dubai phone number for Andrews in prison and has visited him in jail.
“I’m absolutely knackered, it’s the second morning because I spoke to Lee yesterday and he wants me to go to the Al Awir prison because he’s given me permission to get all his phones, his belongings,” she said.
“So I’m going there now. I still need to hear back from his lawyer if I can get a visit to see him. It’s Wednesday and I go on Friday… time is running out.”
She said earlier that day: “I’m feeling knackered today, I’m excited, but excited for what? Because I don’t know if I’m seeing Lee but at least I now know he can ring me, I’ve got the Dubai number so at least I know he can ring me. So let’s go to the prison again.”
Her family are reportedly growing increasingly “concerned” about her spending so time away from her kids and being with Andrews in a different country.
It is understood Andrews was arrested on May 14.
The businessman - who is based in Dubai - had been set to fly to the UK to do a joint interview with Price on Good Morning Britain but failed to show up and could not be contacted.
He told Price he had been “bundled into a van” with his hands tied at the Dubai border and taken to a so-called “black site” while attempting to fly to London to be with her amid rumours of a travel ban.
His family reportedly filed a missing persons report with the British embassy but consular staff in Dubai were reportedly been unable to find any trace of him.
After he was located behind bars, Price said Andrews had been shocked to discover he had become “the most hated man in prison” as his disappearance sparked widespread speculation online.
She also continued to insist Andrews had told her he was being interrogated over espionage allegations.
“Lee has been found alive! I don't know the full update. All I know is they thought he was a spy so he's been interrogated,” she said. “I am happy as I didn't know where he had gone. He's been interrogated and had hoods on him. I need to find out when I can see him now. I only had a minute with him on the phone.”
Price also addressed rumours surrounding activity on Andrews’ phone while he was missing, after online users noticed another woman had apparently been followed from his account.
She said: “What happened with the woman was she activated her account and she followed him or he followed her. But then she blocked him. They've never exchanged messages. But I did ask him 'apparently you've followed another woman!'”
Price added that Andrews will need to do a public interview to explain the mystery of his disappearance.
“He is going to have to explain it all. He needs to do an interview,” she said. “The public deserve it - everyone thinks he's a con artist. He needs to come on this podcast! He's had lots of hate but let's give him a chance to tell his story.”
Andrews has been called a “liar and a narcissist” by two of his exes.
He has vehemently denied the conman claims along with allegations that he is unable to leave the UAE due to a travel ban.
Andrews was reportedly banned from leaving Dubai after allegedly spending three weeks in a UAE jail over claims he forged an ex-girlfriend’s signature to secure a £200,000 loan, according to the Daily Mail.
It was also alleged that he applied for a mortgage in his ex’s name without her consent. Andrews has denied the claims.
