Jeremy Clarkson reignites Ellen DeGeneres 'feud' rumours with Clarkson's Farm snub

Rumours of a feud between Jeremy Clarkson and US power couple Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi have resurfaced.

The chat show host and her partner were seen partying at Clarkson’s Cotswolds pub The Farmer’s Dog in November 2024, with Clarkson’s partner Lisa Hogan sharing a video of them online to promote the venue.

Their surprise appearance at an intimate Corrs gig at the pub confirmed DeGeneres and de Rossi’s move to Oxfordshire after they fled the US following Donald Trump’s election.

Sources previously claimed the couple weren’t impressed with the “frenzy” of interest that surrounded them after Hogan posted the footage of them on Instagram - which has since been deleted.

Now, viewers have noticed that they are notably missing from any footage of the Corrs concert in the new series of Clarkson’s Farm, sparking speculation of a rift.

Clarkson teased during episode two of the fifth series of the Amazon Prime Video show: “Some very special guests are inbound.”

He went on: “I'd always been keen for the pub to host live music evenings. Lisa, having trawled through her Irish address book, had managed to book The Corrs.”

The band were then seen performing while the crowd sang and danced - although DeGeneres and Portia, who had been on the first floor balcony during the show, were nowhere to be seen.

There was no sighting of the couple or fellow celebrity guests Natalia Imbruglia and James Blunt in the TV footage.

The Standard has contacted Clarkson’s representative for comment.

Last year, it was reported that Hogan’s decision to share the video of DeGeneres and de Rossi - who had just quietly moved to a Cotswolds farmhouse - may have started a rift.

“The interest around them was frenzied,” an insider told the Mail at the time.

“The moment it was realized they had moved in near the Farmer's Dog, there were paparazzi photographers swarming everywhere for weeks on end.'

“This didn't enamour Ellen and Portia with the area and was in some part why they eventually moved away.”

It was later claimed the couple started going to another nearby pub, The Three Horseshoes, as they attracted less attention there.

Clarkson denied there was a rift and previously said DeGeneres seemed “lovely” and “friendly”.

However, there were further reports that workers refilling the comedian’s huge swimming pool might have led to water shortages at his pub’s chaotic opening.

Clarkson’s Farm viewers saw the pub toilets and kitchen close and huge crowds of customers get turned away in an episode covering the launch in series four.

Clarkson’s plumber said the problem was due to villagers in Asthall using all the water in the mains system - meaning there was none left for the pub, which is a mile away and up a hill.

DeGeneres’ 56ft-long pool was reportedly emptied, cleaned, and refilled around the August Bank Holiday in 2024, which is when Clarkson held the grand unveiling of his revamped pub.

DeGeneres and de Rossi later sold the property, Kitesbridge Farm, for £22.5 million and moved on to a new home nearby: an award-winning minimalist house in 100 acres.

The couple are also thought to have just snapped up a $27million (£20million) mansion in Montecito with reports suggesting they now plan to split their time between the US and the UK.
