IPL 2026 Final: Bengaluru police issues strict advisory ahead of RCB vs GT clash; Check full security measures

As the IPL 2026 final takes place today, May 31, Bengaluru Police has released a public advisory urging residents to strictly follow safety norms. With Royal Challengers Bengaluru set to face Gujarat Titans, authorities anticipate large crowds and heightened celebrations across the city.

Restrictions Imposed to Maintain Order

To prevent any incidents, officials have prohibited several activities, including public celebrations, bike rallies, etc. These measures aim to ensure public safety and maintain law and order during the high-profile match.

Advisory Issued After Last Year’s Stampede

The advisory follows a tragic stampede incident last year outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where 11 people lost their lives. The incident occurred when a massive crowd gathered for victory celebrations after RCB’s win.

In light of this, Bengaluru Police has instructed citizens not to assemble in public places immediately after the final result.

Ban on Public Displays and Screenings

Authorities have also restricted the installation of LED screens facing public roads without prior approval. Additionally, malls, pubs, and other establishments have been directed not to organise live screenings in areas accessible to the general public.

Bengaluru Police Advisory Ahead of IPL 2026 Final

  • No public celebrations after the final result.
  • No LED screens facing roads without permission.
  • No public live screenings outside malls, pubs or establishments.
  • No firecrackers or hazardous materials.
  • No bike rallies, stunts, overspeeding or road blockades.
  • No unnecessary honking or traffic disruptions.
  • No alcohol consumption in public places.
  • No fights, public nuisance or indecent behaviour.
  • No rumours, hateful content or provocative social media posts.
  • Do not provoke or mock supporters of rival teams.
  • Cooperate with police and traffic authorities.
  • Celebrate responsibly and maintain public order.

Strict Action Against Violators

Police have warned of strict action against those engaging in dangerous activities such as stunt riding, overspeeding, unnecessary honking, and blocking roads.

Call for Responsible Celebrations

Appealing to the public, Bengaluru Police emphasised that maintaining peace and safety during the final is a shared responsibility. Citizens have been urged to celebrate in a disciplined and responsible manner while respecting others.
