Indian man killed in Sharjah after alleged TikTok dispute turns into fatal attack

An Indian expatriate was killed in Sharjah after an alleged dispute linked to TikTok escalated into a deadly confrontation, prompting police to arrest multiple suspects.

The victim, identified as Ismail Ponnan Ibrahim Kutty, 40, was a native of Kerala and worked at a bakery in Dubai.

According to a report by Gulf News, the incident followed a dispute that allegedly took place during a TikTok livestream. The disagreement reportedly moved offline after the individuals involved challenged each other to meet in person.

Investigators are examining claims that the confrontation took place near a park in Al Nahda, where Ismail was allegedly attacked by a group of men on the morning of May 31.

Witnesses reported seeing a violent altercation before alerting emergency services. Paramedics rushed Ismail to Al Qassimi Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Sharjah Police confirmed the incident on Wednesday and said several suspects had been taken into custody. Authorities have not released further details about those arrested.

Police said investigations remain ongoing as officers work to establish the full circumstances that led to the killing.
