Idris Elba to be knighted as Torvill and Dean receive royal honours

Idris Elba Christopher Dean Jayne Torvill

Sir Idris Elba , Dame Jayne Torvill, and Sir Christopher Dean are among 68 individuals receiving honours from the King at Windsor Castle.
Sir Idris was awarded a knighthood for his services to young people, having established the Elba Hope Foundation in 2022.
He previously received a grant from the Prince’s Trust and is collaborating with the King on a Netflix documentary marking the charity's 50th anniversary.
Olympic ice skating champions Dame Jayne Torvill and Sir Christopher Dean were named in the New Year Honours list for their services to ice skating and voluntary work.
Other honourees include Dame Meera Syal for her contributions to literature, drama, and charity, and Paul Elliott of the Chuckle Brothers , who received an MBE for charitable service.
