Scotland face Ivory Coast in an international friendly this evening as both teams continue their 2026 World Cup preparations.

Scotland are gearing up for their first World Cup appearance since 1998 thanks to a dramatic win over Denmark in the final game of qualification back in November.

Steve Clarke’s side have since been drawn into Group C along with Brazil, Morocco and Haiti, taking on the latter in their opening match of the tournament on June 13.

There will need to be a marked improvement from Saturday’s 1-0 defeat against Japan after Clarke expressed disappointment and surprise after hearing some boos from the Tartan Army.

It is now one win in ten friendlies for Scotland and they will have their work cut out against the three-time Africa Cup of Nations champions.

Ivory Coast have also qualified for this summer’s World Cup, in Group E along with Germany, Curacao and Ecuador, and warmed up for today’s friendly by thumping South Korea 4-0 last week.

RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, tipped to replace Mohamed Salah at Liverpool, will not feature because of injury, but the Ivorians to arrive in England with the likes of Amad Diallo, Nicolas Pepe and Franck Kessie ready to feature.
